BOUT AT GREYMOUTH. To-morrow (Saturday) night at the Town Hall Greymouth, wrestling and boxing fans will be well catered for when two sensational matnien in Kara Pasha, “The Terrible Turk,” and Alex Lundyn, the Invincible Finn (champion oif Finland) meet in a 'thrilling combat of eight ten minute rounds. The contest is being run under the auspices of the Grey Boxing Association, who have also secured two excellent amateur boxing contests in H. Lister and G. Ellery, and McPhee and Cockburn, who fought conspicuously at the recent West Coast and the two former at the New Zealand Championships. Kara Pasha has been prominent in the wrestling game since his arrival in New Zealand, having beaten the redoubtable Alley on two occasions. He is a versatile wrestler and is noted for bis calculating cunning and lightning speed, which lias put him in high favour as a matman. Alex Lundyn is well up in the game and lias performed in recent matches with great credit He is a colourful and versatile wrestler. All trains have been delayed and patrons from all parts of the West Coast are expected to witness this excellent match. The popular prices are stage Bs, circle and front ss, back seats 3s. All plus tax. Doors open at 7 p.m. KARA PASHA LOSES. AN UNSPORTSMANLIKE TACTIC. . By Telegraph, Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, October 23. 'j In a thrilling bout of wrestling tonight, Billy Edwards (13.1) defeated Kara Pasha 12.9) by two falls to one. Edwards gaind a fall in the third round, alter a series of headlocks, and then Pasha secured a submission fall in the fourth round with the “Boston Crab.”
In the sixth round, Pasha had again secured the Boston Crab, and a fall seemed certain, when Edwards, twisting round, trapped Kara Pasha on the back, and the latter thinking it the signal of victory, released his hold. Edwards# sprang to his feet, and seizing the Turk from behind, hurled him to the mat to secure the deciding fall with a body press. The crowd booed and cheered in wild excitement. Kara Pasha, after the uproar haf died down, issued a challenge to Edwards to meet him again at any time under any conditions. The contest was the cleanest and most open one seen in Dunedin this year. WALKER’S ENDURANCE, IN A BODY SCISSORS. WELLINGTON, October 23. Wonderful endurance was shown in the last round of an eight round professional wrestling match at the Town Hall to-night when, George Walker (13.5), the' British Empire champion stood up magnificently to a devastating body-scissors applied by bis opponent, Tom Enrich (14.9), the Russian.
The scissors was applied on the mat about the middle of the round, and; Walker’s body had to undergo tremendous pressure. Lurich tried time and time again to pull his shoulders to the mat, but Walker hung on gamely, rising to his feet, once, only to fall again, trapped as badly as ever. The crowd were cheering him, and he stuck it until the final gong, when applause broke from all parts of the house. He had one fall secured in the seventh, round to his credit, and this won the match. . .V EBERT Y. LOGAN. , INVERCARGILL, October 23. [n a wrestling bout here this evening, T. Logan (America) defeated F. Ebert (Austria) in the seventh round. Ebert had a fall in hand. Then he attempted to butt Logan, who stepped aside, Ebert crashed through the ropes to the floor, and being unable to continue.
