A DOUBLE WEDDING

St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church, Dunedin, Ayas tlie scene of a very pret-
ty and interesting double wedding on August 28th, the occasion being the > marriage, of the two daughters of Mr ' A. G: arid tke late Mrs McKenzie, Taieri Mouth, Dunedin. The eldest daughter, Flora Annie was married to David, ■ eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. J. Houston of Three Mile, Hokitika, and the second daughter, Effie Sheila, was married to John Alexander, third son of Mr and Mrs C. D. Scar row, Raetihi. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. AV. McKenzie, of Port Chalmers, and Rev. G. H. Jupp, of Anderson’s Bay, Dunedin. The • church was prettily decorated with • spring flowers sent by a friend in Wanganui, and Miss Margaret Walker, of Heriot, a cousin of the brides presided at the organ. The brides, the elder of whom entered the church on the arm of her father, and the younger on the arm of her brother, Mr'Eion McKenzie of • Heriot, were similarly attired in frocks'of ivory crepe de chine with insets of radium lace. Their embroidered veils were arranged on a coronet of orange blossom. Each bride carried a dainty bouquet of fresias, white heather, spring flowers, and chrysanthemums. Miss Flora McKenzie was attended by her sister, Miss Moira Me-. Kenzie who wore a dainty frock of apricot crepe de chine,' and Miss Shela McKenzie by Miss Jean Nelson of Dunedin, who was in a frock of pale green crepe de chine. Both bridesmaids wore drooping summer felt hats to tone and carried beautiful bouquets of bronze tinted chryanthemums. Mr David Houston was attended by his brother Mr James Houston of Three Mile, and Mr David Scarrow of Raetihi acted as best man for Mr Alex Scarrow. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Strand Saloon, tfhere M'iss Walker, aunt of the brides received the guests, wearing a becoming frock of navy celanese and hat to tone, and carrying a posy' of mauve anemones. An unusual feature of the wedding was the twin cake decorated with streamers of McKenzie tartan ribbon.
Amid showers of confetti the couples left on their honeymoons, Mrs Houston wearing a burgundy celeanese ensemble suit and Mrs Scarrow a nut brown Swiss embroidered crepe de chine frock with coat to match.
