THE ECLIPSE
The eclipse of the sun this morning was only visible at intervals. There was a showery early morning and clouds, but about 8.30 o’clock the sun ibeeame visible for a few minutes and tile first contact was to be seen on the bottom right hand corner. As the eclipse increased the view was not so good, clouds passing over the sun’s surface. Then a sudden cloud burst, brought one of ...the heaviest hailstorms experienced for some months, and in a few moments the ground was covered with a white' coating, the hailstones being of a substantial size. The burst passed off as quickly as it had come and a few minutes later the ,sun again became visible and the closing of the eclipse was visible with comparatively fair results. VISIBLE AT INTERVALS.
