A TRAGEDY
MOTHER AND SON DEAD

A tragedy occurred at 53 Salisbury Street ‘this morning, as the rdsult of which Mrs Pimford. middle-aged, and her son, Frank, aged 14, are both dead, and a daughter, Iris, 16, is in the hospital critically ill. The tragedy is believed to be due to poisoning, and was 'discovered by the girl ringing up Doctor Thompson. Ho arrived as she collapsed,
The woman was .found dead in a shed. The husband s a labourer, who i/s absent on public works near Culvcrdou. CHTUSIUHURCH. Oct. 21. Tile husband’s name was F. S. Dur.foid. 'No letter or message of any kind was left so that until the postmortem examinations, the cause of death will remain uncertain. Unless the girl recovers and makes a. statement there will be no account of the happenings in the l house This morning when Doctor Thompson arrived he found the hoy and girl together in a room. The hoy was in a state of utter collapse and the girl was in great pain and collapsed almost immediately. The doctor rushed them to the hospital where urgent measures were taken, but the boy died soon after admission.
Doctor. Thompson reported the matter to the police and accompanied by iSorgenut Almond rammed, to the house. There in a shed at the back of the premises, they found the body of Mrs T>unford, She had been dead some time. There is a good chance of the girl’s recovery.
