WELLINGTON, October 20.

The late Sir Uuarles Skc-rreit’s will set aside portion of his estate for investment and directed that tlie interest thereon shall be applied by the tr. sLccs to educational charities. The trustees have made the fiist halfyearly allocation, which is as follows: £25 each to St. Bede’s College, Christchurch, Upper liutt Convent, Seatoun Boys’ Preparatory College, and Hastings Convent; £lO each to Palmerston North Convent and Hill Staeet Convent, Wellington; £2O each to the .Jubilee Institute for the Blind, at Auckland; to the Wellington Free Kinder garden Association, and to the Salvation Army headquarters at Wellington.
