MINING PIONEER. PASSES
(Australian Press Association.) MELBOURNE, ‘Oct. 17. The . death has occurred of Mr Bowes Kelly, who was 'identified with early development of the Broken Hill, mining field and also the Mount Lyell silver mines in Tasmania. He bought for £450, a one-fourteenth share in the first Broken Hill mine many years ag.o A few years later it had a capital valuation of £1,250,000.
