(By Telegraph—Press Association) THE COUNCIL. WELLINGTON, October 18. In the Legislative Council, the Land Laws Amendment Bill was reported from the Lands Committee with minor amendments. The Bill was put through all stages and passed. Trustee Bill was read a second time pro forma, and referred to the Native Affairs committee. Local Legislation Bill was also read a second time pro forma and referred to the Local Bills Committee. The Tramways Amendment Bill, Slaughtering and Inspection Amendment Bill, and Census Postponement, Bill were put through ail stages and passed. The Council rose at 4.45 p.m till 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday. THE HOUSE. WELLINGTON, October 18. In the House of Representatives the day was devoted to local bills, twelve o*f which were read a second time. Seven of these were put through the remaining stages and passed. The House rose at 5.45 p.m. till 2.30 on Monday.
