The investment market continues toimprove. The Commonwealth loans and hank shares are claiming the most attention.
Bank of New Zealand scrip has firmed by 3s 3d per share, and Commercial Bank of Sydney by 7s 6d, while, the Bank of New South Wales scrip was the medium to-day of heavy business on the market at £?.?, the price being steady at that figure. SYDNEY WOOL MARKET SYDNEY, October 16. At the wool sales to-day 10,630 bales were offered, and 9,951 were sold, also 213 were disposed of privately. Values were fully on a par with late rates, with good Continental and Japanese competition. Greasy merino made 171 pence, this being the highest price this season for greasy.
