MASEFIELD’S WIN IN N.S.W

SYDNEY, October 16

In the second stage of the King’s prize, under the auspices of the National Rifle Association, the New Zealand marksman, Captain W. M. Masefield won ‘‘The Philip, Charley.” the conditions being ten shots at 600 yds. Masefield’s score was 49. He received £5. The second man was Armstrong (Victoria), and the: third Pinkerton forty-nine. The best that Masefield could do in the .first stage of the King’s Prize was 96 in the Prince of Wales match, the winner of which was Shearim, of Sydney, with a score of 102, followed 1 v Wile-Sniith, of Junee, 102, and three scores of 101. The conditions were seven shots at the three, five and six hundred yards.
