THE COUNCIL. WELLINGTON Oct. 16
In the Legislative Council the Arms Amendment Rill was reported from the House In committee on the Bill, the Leader of the Council moved for the re-insertion of a provision, cancelling the license of dealers convicted under the Act. This was agreed to, and the Bill was passed. Canterbury Agricultural College Bill was passed after minor amendments had been made in the constitution of a board. x The Council rose at 3.20 p.m. THE HOUSE. Tn the House of Representatives the Local Legislation Bill, Census Postponed Rill, Tramways Amendment Bill, Slaughtering and Inspectors Amendment Rill, and Native Trustee Bill were put through the remaining) stages and passed. Kawarau Gold Mining Amalgamation Rill was introduced by GovernorGeneral’s message, read a first time and also a second time pro forma and referred to the Goldfields and Mines Committee.
The House rose at midnight. WELLINGTON, Oct. .17. The House of Representatives met at 10.30 this morning. The House agreed with the amendments made by the Legislative Council in the following Rills:—Native Land Amendment and Native Lanti Claims' Adjustment Bill; Stock Amendment Bill,/ Arms Amendment Bill and Canterbury Agricultural College Bill. WELLINGTON, Got. 17. Eight local bills were read a second time. Petonc Railway Crossing Ramp Bill and Rotorua Borough Vesting and Empowering Rill were ruled out of order.
The House adjourned at 12.45 p.m
