THE FUTURE OF RUSSIA

DEAN INGE’S REVIEW

[United Press Association—By Electric Teiograp h—Copy righ fc. J

(Received 11.0 a.m.)

LONDON, October 15

In a lengthy review of the trend of events in Russia, Dean luge in the “Evening Standard,” raised the question of whether the demurrat i«\s of the West will he able to stand up against her. Russia is the largest country in the world with an increasing population at the rate of iienrlv three millions against two and a half for the re, ; t of Europe, in which the individual is ruthlessly sacrifi ed far the State, and in which there is a vast standing army. Russia- in a short time may he the most powerful nation in the world, and all the more powerful because her population is in the depths of misery and will obey with oriental helplessness and passivity. Europe is not yet afraid or is only afraid of communism in which Dean Inge is of opinion that there is no danger. He is a rash man to prophesy where Russia te concerned. Russia is a great enigma of the future.
