The annual meeting of the- Greymouth Jockey Club as held last evening, Mr T E. Coates presiding over an attendance of forty-one members. The following committee Avere. elected : —Messrs A. Beban, J. W. Hannan, Gi Harker, H. D. James, C. Kettle, H. Moore, W. H. Parfitt, W. Reynolds, A. Smith, J. D. Wingham, K. Williams. The necessity of a- competent, starter was brought up by Mr Beban. It would be preferable, he said, if the stakes were reduced in order to hayt the services of a competent starter. By' securing the services of such a man, the public Avould bet more freely.
