It was (simultaneously reported from Melbourne that the Federal Ministry will submit a caucus for the endorsement of proposals for the reduction of salaries of Commonwealth Ministers by fifteen, per cent; Parliamentary salaries by ten per cent; reduction of salaries of Federal public nervants on a graduated scale, ranging from two and a half to twelve and a half 'per cent; new taxation increases on all incomes, which are not derived from personal/exertion; increased probate .succession duties; increased excise duties; .revision,of sales tax to exclude many existing exemptions. The Leader of the Opposition iu the Victorian Asesmbly gave a notice of a motion of no-confidence in the Government following dissatisfaction with the proposal for the increased taxation contained in the Budget.
