STECHER DEFEATS EBERT. ! ' (By Telegraph—Press Awwofttion' DUNEDIN, Sept. 29. Tony Steelier (12.7) and Fred Ebert (13.10) met in the 'Town Halil to-night, and provided a large crowd with an exhibition of lair, keen wrestling. It was lacking in spectacular features. Steelier was the. faster man. He won by two falls, (the figure of lour scissors in each case) to one (a body press). Heated exchanges at, times called for stern measures 'by the referee, Mr W. Ooughkmd, who delighted the crowd on one occasion by throwing Ebert.

AUCKLAND. Sept. 29

The professional wrestling contest a.t the Town Hall to-night, under the control of the New Zealand Wrestling Association, between Tom Lurioh, the heavyweight champion of Russia, and Scotty McDougall, the Scottish-Cana-dan heavyweight, ended in a win for the former by two falls, gained in the sixth and seventh rounds, to one, obtained by McDougall, in the fifth round, it was a very tame contest, the large crowd present counting out and hooting the contestants at the finish.
