GO-SLOW POLICY. IN SOUTHLAND MINES. (By Telegraph—Press Association). DUNEDIN, September 29. It is reported here that a section of the miners in the Lignite coal mine, Southland, are going slow, as the result of a dispute with the owners as to the methods of extracting the coal The miners ask that the blasting of the coal face be allowed, but the owners are determined to adhere to the award which provides for cutting and holing. Some Southland mines, as a result of a go-slow policy, have been compelled to ask customers to accept coal from the Otago mines.
This policy of the miners is regarded as a peculiar commentory on their present agitation for the placing of an embargo on Australian coal.
