ALL SAINTS YOUNG MEN’S CLUB

The meeting last night, . chose their subjects and appointed their speakers for the debate to be held on Friday, October 10th. The subjects will be; “Is too' much time spent in sport in New Zealand?” “Should bachelors be taxed?” '

Business concluded, the Club turned to the solution of various queries discovered in the Question Box, and the following received two minutes each. We cannot pretend that every possible solution of each question was reached, but the wide variety of subjects tackled proved, at least fertility of; invention in the ■ master mind responsible for setting - the pro- - blcms. Here they are. Should cats be taxed? Should native game be;protected ? Is an aeroplane for Hokitika desirable? Are Polar Expeditions’ worth while? Should the Petrol Tax’ be abolished? Should the Club have colours ? SVhat do you think would relieve unemployment on the Coast ? What farmyard animal do you think most ' useful? Should military training be abolished ? Is a tomato a fruit or a vegetable? Should suppers be provided for Club members? Should Hokitika .houses be J numbered ? Are dances detrimental to m ; dung people?
