ADDRESS ON* FINANCE. \By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, September 24. v. International finance and its problems were referred to by Sir Otto Niemeyer, the Financial Adviser to the Bank’of England, in an address given at the New Zealand Club luncheon, today. , Sir Otto dealt with the great currency ’disturbances that had followed the war. He also dealt with what hetermed the growing tween the reserve banks of the world, and urged the necessity of ; their having an international outlook and also the importance of having stability ,of the value of gold. Another feature of his nddresn was a reference.to the work of the Financial Committee of the League of Nations, particularly in regard to the financial reconstruction undertaken in the case of Australia and of other European countries Finally, he, impressed on his hearers the s necessity for an international settlement of problems, and lie emphasised New Zealand’s part in such activity.
