CHALLENGE TO REPUBLIC.
FASCISTS UNCOMPROMISING
(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright I LONDON, Sept. 22. At the Berlin secret meeting, Doctor Goeblejs cried:—“We have the courage to plunge the German Republic into chaos!” •Doctor Goebles is the head of the Berlin section of 1 lie Fascist organisation.
Amid the cheers of his followers, Dr Goebles went on:—“Our object is to checkmate the Republic. > “When we have won that game, we begin our game with the world. In this dung-heap state, a Revolution need not be necessary. Our party, wanting political power, won’t put nip any longer with a terror such as we have been subjected to in the past. We enter Parliament to rule alone. Whoever joins us must submit to us!” Another prominent Fascist said that the Hitler Party would only join the Government if it received the Ministries of War and of the Interior, and only if the Prussian Parliament was dissolved . and all the Marxist officials. were dismissed.
GERMAN MILITARISM.
(Received this dnv at 12.2/5. p.m A LONDON,. Sept. 22.
Corroborated reports from Germany indicate a wave of militarism as an outcome of the elections. The Berlin newspaper “Nachtaustabe” epitomises the feeling by asserting that heads may be shaken at Geneva, Paris and even' Berlin, but when the sound of the trumpet and drum rings in German streets, hearts, young and old, will beat iaster. Thank God no paci-fist-fraud will ever rob Germans of their pride of armed forces. Other newspapers are devoting much •snace to Sunday’s activities of the steel helmets, many branches of which are in sympathy with Hitler supporters.
Reports from Coblenz, Hanover, Frankfurt, refer to meetings of steel helmets directed against Versailles restrictions of German armament. It is reported a move is being made to induce General Hindenburg to invite ex-Chancellor Luther to form a nonparty cabinet.
