CRICKET MATCHES

WELLINGTON, September 23
At the annual meeting the Wellington Cricket Association. Mr P. B. Broad moved that the Association should press the New Zealand Cricket Council to arrange home and away match .to be played for the Plunket Shield in every season in which there is not a visit from an overseas team. What was wanted in New Zealand, he said, was more cricket of a better kind. If the proposals were adopted it would benefit the Association’s finances by £lcO a year. Mr H. McGirr questioned if such matches would pay, if any but the strongest teams were sent away.
The motion was carried on the voices. ,
