RAT ANA’S SON STANDING

Haami Tokouru Ratana, the son of the Maori Prohpet, Ratana, has been selected as tbe candidate of the Ratnnan people in the bye-election in the Western Maori Constituency, /which takes places on October Bth. Haami Ratana is 36 years of age He has twice previously contested the seat unsuccessfully. In view of the choice of the leaders of the Ratana Movement, A. P. T<? Mete, of Tu uvonga, who was expected to identify himself with the Riv.at.'n interests, has decided to withdraw from the campaign,
