KILLED A CAT
N.Z.A.F. COMMANDER FINED. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, September 3. Wing-Commander Grant Dalton was fined to-day on a charge of illtreatment of a cnt. The action was taken by the Society for tlie prevention of cruelty to animals on a complaint, which according to tlie evidence, showed that defendant, instead of taking the usual procedure of drowning, had knocked the animal on the head. The cat was not his, but a neighbours. He said that it had had a fit in Iris place and he killed it on the ground that it had infantile paralysis and was a menace to health. The Inspector considered the method of killing cruel and defendant was fined £2.
