MR SCULLIN

The Prime Minister of Australia (Mr Scullin) is much improved in health. He was on the Grama’s deck for a few hours on Sunday. Rain confined him to his cabin on Monday. Interviewed, he said the important aspect of his mission abroad was to show that Australia was solvent. The motion was prepared to pay every penny it owed. It was made essential in the national interests, that Australia’s budget should lie balanced. He has appealed to all sections of the community to support Mr Fenton and his colleagues. COLOMBO, Sept. 3.
News of the Federal Cabinet crisis was received by Mr Scull in while he was lunching at a seaside hotel, and he was much concerned.
