The mutch resulted in a wiifor the visitors by 20 points to 1(5. It was a great game full of excitement and thrills and up to the closing stages it appeared .that eitliei side might win. Then.,however, the Britishers dominated the play, and launched attack after attack on tilthome goal line, ' finishing up with two fine tries alter movements which had baffled the Queenslanders. The, crowd numbered abut five thousand. They yyero kept at a high pitch of excitement from the beginning to the end. The visitors played a fine sporting game, throwing the ball about with delightful abandon. It was the freedom of men-tsr which' defeivtfed . Queensland. The: i latter were C fine fighting : side) and they have a-• reputation-for doggedness, lint to-day they were..at a big disadv^tage^u^i^htF|b i cleVerj quick - m6:yeme|i»|fjljof pj'the" Britishers often found thehrdisSfgaiYised,. The play was’ fast from the beginning, and it was not. surprising when the visitors broke through a strong defence for their first try, but when Queensland gained the lead with a try and goal, both sides put further efforts into their play, and the crowd was continually on its feet cheering brilliant bursts first by one .side and then by the other.

• When half-time came, Britain had an advantage in •' points, the score being 13 to 10 in their favour, and that just about indicated • the merits of the teams. Early in the second spell, the home side levelled the scores but from that point, the Britishers were on top.and, although Queensland made several bursts one of which resulted in a try, the home supporters could not feel .confident while the dark blues’ three-quarters were sweeping down on tljem in wave aftei wave. A try that was' scored by Knowles early in' the game' was a masterpiece. All of. the British back division and sonie of the forwards handled.. in brilliant passing move, . apd when the defence had been drawn to tlie wing a pass flashed infield to Knowles, who capped it „with. a; flue dash across the, line _ . The Queensland supporters still had hopes .when the scores, were 21 to 16, they were .dashed.. when a -final; score came with Wilkinson, who crossed after Hodgson and Ivor Jones had done the work. The Britishers asserted a superiority from that stage, and Queensland eotild only tackle desperately to keep the scores down. So well did the visitors combine, that it would be difficult to single out individuals for -special mention. Jones-Davies was in everything, and his work was the more successful because of the assistance given by Knowles and Aarvold. Bonner at full-back was safe, and in the forwards, Hodgson, Wilkinson and IvorJones were the best. Those who' showed to best advantage for Queensland in the backs were Lawton, Brown, Steggell, and Freeleiibauter, and in the 'forwards Reville ail'd Clark.
