DEATH UNDER ANAESTHETIC TBy Telegraph, Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Sept. 1, While undergoing an operation in the public hospital this morning, a local resident, Charles Miller, died under an anaesthetic. SLIP IN MANAWATUA GORGE. PALMERSTON N., September 1. A serious slip occurred in Manawatu Gorge shortly after nine o’clock .on Saturday evening completely blocking the roadway. Not until Sunday morning was a narrow track cleared for traffic.
When the slip happened, a car was caught and pinned against the side of the road by heavy masses of clay and rock. The prisoners escaped without injury.
