MR SCULLIN’S CONDITION. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, Aug. 28. A message from the Orama says Mr J. H. Scullin is still running a temperature and is extremely fatigued and his voice is being weakened, hut the complete rest is having a beneficial effect on his general condition. N.S.W. FINANCE. The State Government is now reviewing the Estimates to be presented to the impending.session and expects to balance the ledger,.in every Department except Railways, which at the rate of the losses at present mounting, will show a deficit of four millions sterling. GRAZIERS’ COSTS. SYDNEY, Aug. 28. F. H. Tout. President of the Graz* iers’ Association, states the cast of handling -mutton for export between the producer and London market has risen 66 per cent, since 1914. The charges 16 years ago for droving, railage, killing, freezing, freight, and insurance totalled 6s S)d per head. Today the charges are 10s 3d each, As meat must be sold in the world markets, chiefly British, which is down to pre-war levels, the costs of production must be reduced.
