PARENTS’ TRAGIC END

BOUND FOR NEW ZEALAND,

SYDNEY, Aug. 25,

Two girls, aged nine and seven, Diana and Rosemary Fetch, arrived to-day by the liner Hestor. They are going to New Zealand.

Their father was formerly manager of a large tobacco plantation in Nyrtssalaiid. He was stricken by malaria, and when he was dying -their mother was killed by lightning. , The father then, died as a result of the sheleaving the orphans at the mercy of the world. Some friend located relatives at Te Ivuiti.

The. children have been looked after by -passengers on board the Hestor. and their grandfather. Mi" /W. I Fetch, met them here, and will see to their welfare on the voyage to New Zealand.

The father of the orphans', on the Hestor was the son of W. L. Fetch, who was farming at Feilding for many years and now retired and residing with his daughter. Mrs H. P. Cook,, at Te Ivuiti. The children will be taken care of by their aunt- and their grandfather. • - ■ •- •
