HAWKE’S BAY HUNT CLUB. (By Telegraph—Press Association), HASTINGS, Aug. 23. f The Hawke’s 1 Bay Hunt Club’s annual race meeting was held on Hastings Racecourse in fine weather. The course was in perfect order and the attendance fair. In the Cup Steeples Highwayman broke a leg and had to be destroyed. ’The tote handled £5983 as against £7957 last year. Riverslea Hunters’ Hurdles Postman 1, Tall Timber 2, Tam worth 3. Won by a length. Time 3.21 3-5. Park Hack HurdlesWhakaue 1, High Heather 2, Handy 3. Won 'ey three lengths. Time 3.24 1-5. Pakuranga Hunt Club’s annual race meting as held at Ellerslie to-day in beautiful weather. The track was only slightly holding, The tote took £34,8714 compared with £40,988 last year. Greenmount Hunters' Steeplechase: (7) Scaramouche 1, (1) Freyja 2, (6) Lovely Boy 3. Won by three lengths. Time 5.18 3-5. ■ . ■

Harris Memorial Hurdles—(l) Penny plain 3, (2) Spalpiko 2, (7) Twinkler 3. Won by, two lengths. Time 2.50. Sylvia Park Handicap:—(B) Wlaimuri 1, (6) Volimond 2, (12) Wild Country 3. HORSES WIN AT ROSEHILL. SYDNEY, Aug. 24. For the Rosehill races the weather was fine. Results:— Granville Stakes, first division:— Dunraven (N.Z.) 7.13 (Humphries) 1, Bakata 7.10 2, Miss Vara 7.1 3. Sixteen started, including Ben Hur and Imalone. Won by a long neck. Time 1.545. The New Zealander, Stately, was unplaced in the second division, which w;*s won by Pinhoe. Dundas Handicap:—Pentheus 8.11 (Johnstone) 1, Waugoola 7.8 2, Fujisan 9.13 3. Twenty, started, including the New Zealanders Eaglet, Goshawk and Vallar, but Limerick was not started. In the three and four year handicap, the New Zealanders Papatu and Vali were unplaced. The Paramatta Mile was won by Black Douglas. MELBOURNE, Aug. 24. At the Williamstown races, the former New Zealander Waterline carrying 8.11, won the Underwood Stakes in 1.41. Glare was among the fourteen starters.
