,THE JR LOSSES' ON THE TAHITI. (Australian Press Association) SYDNEY, August 19. Mr H. D. Wood, President of the New South Wales Rugby Union, and other officials gave the British Rugby Team a hearty welcome at the wharf this morning. Mr Baxter told the interviewers about their wonderful tour of Now Zealand, how well it had been organised, and the remarkable crowds which had witnessed the matches. Many of the players, he said, were at present perturbed at the sinking of the Tahiti. They had posted all sorts of things on her. A number of the former Waratahs greeted the Britishers oh the decks of the Maunganui. The ocoasion was one of the liappiest re-union. The Britishers later were accorded a reception at Hotel Australia. Sir Henry Braddbn facetiously advised the guests to take ho notice of the idle talk of depression, taxation and unbalanced budgets, which were designed to lure visitors into a false sense of security. “We niay he short of money,” he said, “but we aire hot short of wind.”
