Mi' Allen Bell has -been selected as the candidate to contest the Bay oi island seat at the next General Election in the Reform Party’s interests. Mr 801 l held the seat until the last General Election, when Mr Broadfoot (Country Party) defeated him. NELSON EDUCATION BOARD. NELSON, August 18. • Hon. AA 7 . H. Mclntyre was elected Chairman of the Nelson Education Board. In thanking the members, Mr Mclntyre said that he took it the Board felt that the Chairman should represent:the consensus .of opinion the Board in opposition to centralisation, and for the .preservation of what little powers of democratic control the parents now possessed; - t ■
