(By Telegraph—Press Association)

WELLINGTON, Aug. 18

“There are now twenty associations affiliated with the parent body with an estimated total membership of 28,690 members,’’ says the annual report of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association to be presented at the annual meeting on August 29th. Somo associations, it continues, have failed Jo furnish their annual returns, and as a result, their clubs would be deprived of a good deal of benefit,

For the first time in the history of the Association the annua] New Zealand tournament has been held after the New Year holidays and as a result, the entries were small and notwithstanding the favourable weather and suitable seating accommodation, the attendance of the public has been smaller than at any New Zealand championships during the pnst eleven years. The total entries for all events had been 197 compared with 245 for the previous year.
