FALL IN DEPOSITS. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, August 14. Official figures disclose that the total amount of money deposited at the trading banks in Australia is three hundred and nine millions sterling as at June 30. The deposits have contracted by nineteen and a half millions in the past twelve months ,while the advances have increased by six teen and three-quarter millions. After deducting the total liabilities in Australia -from the total assets in Australia, the surplus of the banks for the twelve months under review has almost doubled, and it is now £69,231,000.
