Cocaine weighing 250 ounces of a value of £15,000 sterling was discovered ingeniously concealed in a* consignent of porcelain tiles aboard the Japanese steamer ‘Seale Alarm” Customs officers also discovered a large quantity in tins of preserved fruit among the cargo of the same ship. It is believed the officers unearthed a conspiracy to distribute cocaine throughout British Malay, Burma and India. Three members of a Japanese firm have been arrested and are being sent to Japan for trial.
