A HUGE RISE

At a special meeting of the Sydney City Council, a resolution proposed by the Reform Party, to bring the Council’s employees tinder the Public Service Reduction Act, tvas approved. Tills means a cut of eight' and one third per cent, in their wages. The Labour members of the Council hotly condemned the reduction. At the same meeting the Reform Alderman agreed to a recommendation of the Electricity, Committee to increase the salary of Mr Forbes MaCr kav, the Manager of the City Electricity Department from two thousand to three.thousand pounds a year.
