SKULL FRACTURED
■ ■ ■ -»«» ■ ' ■■■ FATAL STREET ACCIDENT, , WELLINGTON, August 12. Following what appeared to be a minor accident in Moxham Avenue shortly before 9 o’clock on Monday night, Mrs Martha Elizabeth Daly died at her sister’s residence, 17, Stoke St, Newtown, this morning. Mrs Daly left her son’s confectionery shop in the business section of Moxliam Avenue about 8.45 p.rn. and walked across the road, ! intending to catch a tram. At that moment, n.-Miramar car, pulling up at the shop struck Mrs Daly and -she fell to the ground, striking her .head.on the road. She was conscious when she was picked up and at first" it ivias not thought that she was injured. It. was subsequently discovered that ’she Had suffered a fracture at the base of the skull. After being attended by doctors she was taken by the ambulance to the home of her sister, Mrs J. C. Hand. Towards midnight her condition became worse and she died between three and four o’clock. Mrs Daly was a widow, 65 years of age.
