A sequel to a wild exciting wrestling bout in the Town Half on July 14th. was heard in the Policfe Court when William dbeiotty) McDougall was charged with striking Leonard Percivalj Naylor, who was acting as second for Tom Alley,’McDougall’s opponent. A constable said that in the seventh round the wrestlers got out of' the ring and struggled on a narrow l ledge. Eventually they were separted. Alley retuflied to the ring, but after about thirty seconds, McDougall struck Naylor.

The defence was that McDougall ■struck Naylor under; the . provocation that: Naylor had- a stranglehold on McDougall wno was excited. Magistrate Hunt-have the Wrestling Association taken' steps in the matter. Why. should . I be. bothered with it,

Referee . Widson alsft gave evidence He. said MoDouga.il was justified.

The Magistrate said Naylor should not have been hit and he fined McDougall £2.
