JEWELLER'S SUICIDE
Telegraph—Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, Aug. 5. Tlie i circumstances of the death of Lionel Joseph Bellve, agetl 32 years, jeweller, of Victoria. St. Hamilton, who was found dead in his shop yesterday were investigated by the Coroner today, when a verdict of suicide was returned. ' ; It was shown in evidence that the body was found lying on a mattress on the floor with the end of a gas tube in the mouth. Near the body was a rifle with a live cartridge and the trigger, cocked. A note 'was found intimating the intention to commit suicide. : : Detective White, in evidence, stated the accused had been interviewed on Friday in connection with-an alleged crime, which he had denied.
