WASHINGTON, Aug. 3. ! Naval officials have indicated, that the United States may abandon her large fleet of submarines in favour of smaller suitable for coastal defences. The Navy General Board, it fa understood, is having difficulty to determine how to utilise to the test .advantage the tonnage allotted to. the United States in submarines by the London Treaty. The general opinion, seems to be against larger submersiblas.
