APPENDICITIS

Kingsford Smith has entered a hospital at Middleburg, suffering from pains in the back. Doctors report there is no danger but lie needs absolute rest, after the strain of many recent receptions. KINGSFORD SMITH OPERATED " • ON. ■ (Received this day at noon.) . AMSTERDAM, August 4. Doctor Voss successfully operated on Kingsford Smith for appendicitis and advised him to take a long rest to ensure complete recovery from the strain of the past two years. This postpones his solo flight to Australia.
