TO CROSS POLE IN SUBMARINE

[United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.] NEW YORK, July 31. t.ir H. Wilkins returned to-day from his honeymoon in Europe. He said he hoped to start his under-water expedtion to tlie Arctic next May or June. He anticipated .starting from Spitzbergen, and driving a submarine under the Arctic ice across the North Pole to Uiialaska. Wbile abroad, Sir H. Wilkins entlisted the services of Doctor Sverdrup, the noted Norkegian meteorologist, and Doctor Veiling Miesesz, a Dutch scientist. Another scientist will also be selected.
