YEAR’S BALANCE SHEET
(By Telegraph—Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 30. Interesting details of the finances and administration of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board are given in the eighth annual report and statement of accounts.
The income of the Board for the year was £39,331 14s fid, of which the levy on meat exported £38,586 19s Id, less cost of collection £365 13s IOd; produced £36,203 5s 3d. Interest on investments amount to £2,920 12s lOd, and the net income from the Board’s •old '•tore site in London, valued at £29,125 was £206, 16s 5(1. Expenditure for the year, including depreciation, totalled £34,112 3s Dd, leaving a credit balance of £5219 10s 9d. The main items of expenditure were as follow:—Expenses of management (including salaries of head office £445 17s, and London office £3064), £11,179 19s 6d; members lionororia and travelling expenses, £3289 18s 6d; Chairman’s visit to England, on account £587 19s 4d; supervision of grading of meat and unloading of ships, (salaries and travelling expenses), £3045 14s 2d, oversea representatives;. £3Ol-los ; cost' of Board election, £503; cost of annual report £565 ; advertising £13,049 1.4 s 9d. Other items, such as scientific' survey, special experiments, research grant, conference of freezing companies, engineers and Royal Show prizes, total £1216 10s. The Board’s accumulated fund as at June 30, 1930. totalled £94,186 17s 7d. The assets include £59,000, invested in New Zealand Government 5 1-8 per cent., j A per cent.,-and s£, per cent, inscribed stocks, and rural intermediate credit, bonds at per cent, and cold store site, London, £29,125.
