Sports Protection League, the New Zealand: Racing Conference, the New Zealand Trotting Conference, anil members of kindred sports bodies; ft It "was-‘point-ed out that, in-the opinion' of the racing clubs, there would 'be a drop of three millions in. the revenue in the next five.years years if the % per cent tax .were imposed.' In reply, the Prime Minister said that he would give consideration to the question, but lie pointed out that his immediate need was for increased revenue.
