From Chairman, No. 12 District Highways Council, Greymouth, forwarding copy of Bulletin No. 2, Main Highways Board.—Received. From New Zealand Refrigerating Coy.. Christchurch, advising that tiie following quantities of meat were delivered into Hokitika during the month of June, 1930:—viz: 63 sheep, 8 lambs.—Received. From H. H. Williams, Fitzherbert Street, re . Sections 1364-8, Tudor gtreet.—Received. From Hokitika Harbour Board, forwarding copy of resolution passed July 10, 1930, levying Harbour rates for year commencing Ist October, 1929, and ending on 30th Septemom, 1930. —Received, • . From J, Burton-War nock, complaint re enforcement of Motor Regulations. Received; referred to Inspector. . From G. Coles, Brittan Street, application for gravel on footpath at his frontage in lower Brittan Street. —Received; to be attended to. REPORTS. From Treasurer reporting receipts £276 10s -lid, payments £155 16s 7d, dr. balance £926 19s Bd.-Received. Accounts amounting to £645 19s 2d were pasesd for payment. The application of P. Cbyle for 14 days annual leave was granted. The Foreman reported that proposed excavation work in Jolhe Street, would cost £42 13s Od.-Received; no action taken. It was resolved that the Foreman commence the work of deepening the Rolteston Street from Stafford Street north, the work to be done by unemployed ux-soldieirs, the work to be carried on as'far as funds permit, the selection of the workmen being left to the Chairman of Public W orks Committee. A discussion followed complaints made in committee, and the Council resolved to notify the owners of lie-' ensed halls in the town that in future the consumption of spirituous liquors must not be allowed in their building',, otherwise their license will be withdrawn. The Council rose at 8 p.m.
