COMPENSATION
FOR LOSS OF EMPLOYMENT. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) LONDON, July 23. Tn the House of Commons, Mr Lachan (a Labour Member) introduced a Bill providing for the payment of compensation for loss of employment He said the Bill would apply to nonmanual workers, such n« clerks, professional and semi-professional workers who were deprived of employment on account of some act by their employers. The Bill would cover journalists, of whom six hundred were aN feoted by the recent combination between tlie “Chronicle” and the “News.” Tlie compensation proposed consisted of one-twelfth of their remuneration for each complete year ol service. The Bill was read the first time.
