HEAT WAVE
IN NORTH AMERICA. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). NEW YORK, July 21. The United States continues to suffer from a protracted heat wave, with the temperatures ranging near one hundred degrees in most areas. New York City has registered the official mark of 1399 degrees in the sun. Deaths due to the heat are numerous, with another great toll of liie indirectly due to the high temperatures. The crops and herbs are suffering most severely. The Canadian weather forecasters states that the grain crops in Canada will be -seriously damaged unless relief is prompt.
