ASHBURTON, July 22 The Ashburton Ru'gby Union decided to write to the New Zealand Union taking strongest exception to the remarks made l\v Dr Adams in reference to the I luiaru match and that Dr Adams, in justice to local players, he asked to make definite charges against the players and be prepared either to substantiate them or umeservedly withdraw. The Union desired to know where Dr Adams got the information that a certain Ashburton *plaver should not lave been allowed to take part in the match. THE BRITISH TEAM. ENTERTAINED AT ROTORUA. ROTORUA, July 22. The British footballers were given a typical Maori entertainment by Rotoruna Maori Choir at Tamatakapua, the historic meeting house of the Arawa tribe, last night, by Maori songs, dances, and an exposition of native customs. The visitors greatly enjoyed the unique function and were delighted with Rotorua golf course, baths, and sights. Torrential rain is stopping all outdoor engagements to-day.
