MOTOR LORRY ACCIDENT
CHILD KILLED. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.* ROTORUA, July 21. A fatal accident occurred on Saturday evening on tjiei Rotorua-Taupo road, when a lorry went over a steep bank seven miles out. The circumstances are peculiar. The lorry stuck in loose ground two miles from the scene of the accident and was towed to safety by a. car driver, Edgar Bellworthy. \ The lights of the lorry failed, and the driver followed Bellworthy’s car for two miles. Bellworthy, hearing a crash, stopped and found the lorry had disappeared over a hundred feet hank, .and obtained assistance from the P.W.D. construction camp. The driver, Kora Wharekawa, was found, uninjured. A child named Manipoto Tukoreka, son of Rewi Manipoto, of Whakrewarewa, was dead. The body was brought to Rotorua where an inquest will, be held.
