The American led s—l in the second set, and had three set points, but lost to Stefani in the fourth set. The . latter then [ led 4—2, when Allison rallied and volleyed brilliantly. Stefani also had~7" a 3—o advantage in the - final! set, and went to s—l. Allison, fighting hard, pulled up and led. 6—5, and won a great match. • Both players were distressed at the finish. \ PARIS, July 19.
