At Greymouth on Saturday night at the Grey Boxing Association tourney “Tiger” Palmer, of Australia, knocked out Alf CT.everley, ; of Wellington, in the tenth round, after a good contest in which the winner had much the. best of the fight. Palmer is of the tearaway type, but still combines more than a fair share of science, with his milling tactics. It was his aggressiveness that , earned him the day, and Cileverley did not' seem able to cope with his sturdy opponent’s rushes. In the first three rounds the Wellington, boy took the honours, but from then on until the conclusion, in the tenth round, he was defending practically the ; whole of the time. Palmer’s main weapons were left lead followed by a vicious right uppercut, while he also used a left hook to advantage. " ' ' ‘--
