GOLF COUNCIL.

WELLINGTON, July 16

The Golf Council, at the monthly meeting finalised the championship arrangements for the Dominion tourney at. Palmerston North. Sixteen players are to he qualified this year for the professionals championship and consequently their final will be played on ' ’■/; Saturday, as well as the Amateur final. The Council decided to cease the practice of issuing national handicap certificates. Club secretaries will he required to certify on each entry that the Club is handicapping to a standard scratch score. Tn connection with the teams match for the O’Rourke vase, it was made a condition that a country member of a. club can play only in tbe event of the Club having less than four full members in qualifying rounds of the amateur championship.
