RAILWAY DISMISSALS

AUCKLAND, July 13
Fifty-three employees of the Otaluihu railway workshops, who were given notice of dismissal a week ago, have now been notified to continue work till further notice.
MEN’S SCHEME OF RELIEF
AUCKLAND, July 13
Commenting on Air Veiteh’s proposal for rationing work in the Bailway (service. Mr Elliott, Chairman of the Otahuhu and Newmarket Division. A.S.R.S., said special consideration should be given to the basic wage men receiving £-1 8s who already bad heavy commitments. He suggested the men would favour the scheme under which all in constant employment throughout the .service should contribute to an unemployment fund on a graduated scale according - to salary. The A.S.R.S. branch will consider M.r Witch’s proposal immediately after officially receiving it.
